What is Asphalt Paving and how does it work?
Asphalt paving is the process of laying a hot mix of stone, sand, and liquid asphalt onto a prepared base, then compacting it into a smooth, durable surface. In Huntsville, it's the standard for driveways, parking lots, and roads because it handles our freeze-thaw cycles better than concrete.
Think of asphalt as a flexible pavement. The binder is a dark, sticky petroleum product that coats every piece of aggregate.
